Attention Vacationers of All Ages

The Regal Sun Resort Safety Committee has created a list of safe practices our guests are suggested to exercise while on vacation. We truly care about our customers and would like to ensure that a dream vacation has it’s happily ever after. Remember: Safety Doesn’t Happen by Accident!

1) Do you have your key? Upon exiting your guest room check that you have the room keys that were issued to your party and that the door closes firmly behind you. Separate the key from the key packet and never write the room number on the key.

2) Who’s there? If there is an unexpected knock at the door use the “peep-hole” before opening the door to strangers. All resort personnel can be identified by uniform and name badge.

3) Lock it twice! While inside the room and overnight utilize the deadbolt and door latch. These features help to protect your privacy as well as your safety.

4) Its Safe in the Safe! Safe usage is included in the hotel daily resort fee. Take advantage of this provided service by locking up valuables in the room safe or inquire into the use of a safety deposit box at the Front Desk. The hotel is not responsible for items brought into the hotel.

5) In-Room Pay Per View Movies- Although adult movies are unavailable at our location it is still important to check the movie rating before making a selection to protect little eyes.

6) Deal or No Deal? Carry a minimum of cash and valuables at all times. Never display large amounts of cash when making a purchase. Use traveler’s checks or credit cards whenever possible.

7) You don’t know what I got in My Little Deuce Coupe! Park your vehicle in well lit and well traveled areas. Remember to lock your car and roll up windows. Keep all packages/ valuables out of plain sight.

8) Life is a Highway- Use your seatbelt while driving; it’s the law in Florida. Make sure all children are belted, and if under the age of five or 40 pounds must be in a car seat for optimal protection. Follow the laws of the road, including obeying speed limit and traffic signs. Visitors from another country planning on driving an automobile should become familiar with laws that govern the roads in the United States. Prior to traveling, you may find the following link helpful www.dmv.org/driving-abroad/usa.php

9) While at the Park. Dress children in bright colors so they are easy to spot should you become separated. Teach your children how to ask for help, memorize a parent’s cell phone number and the hotel they are staying at in the event of separation. Florida sun is very strong, especially in the summer, it is important to apply and reapply suntan lotion throughout the day to avoid sunburns. Wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes. Inquire into the use of lockers for your valuables or loose items- a very convenient amenity. Use provided transportation: The system of buses, monorails, and watercraft make it easy to get around and is part of the fun. Remember where you were dropped off and the pathway back to hotel transportation.

10) I Wanna Hold your Hand! Whether at the pool, playing in the video arcade or FUN Zone do not leave your children unattended.

11) Safety around our New Signature Pool. Read and obey all rules and posted signs. Always swim with a buddy and be aware of water depth, especially with little ones and those unable to swim. Pay attention to weather conditions, and stop swimming at the first indication of bad weather. Never leave wallets, purses, or keys unattended.

12) Observe No Smoking Signs- For the courtesy of others please smoke in designated areas only. Our indoor public areas and guest rooms are completely non-smoking. Smoke detectors are located throughout the resort, inside and outside, and sensitive to cigarette smoke that will trigger an alarm. Ask a member of our friendly staff for smoking locations.

13) Only hug our pals the Characters! Avoid contact with any wild animals. This includes feeding and leaving out food which can also attract pests. Many wild animals are potentially dangerous, and could carry parasites and diseases that can be transferred to you or to your pet back home.

14) Fire Alarm- Hotel alarm system is in place for your safety. Review with the family the evacuation plan and diagram located on the inside of each guest room door. In case of an alarm please follow automated instructions that accompany alarm sound, either testing notification or evacuation action. Use stairways when descending from the building as elevators will be non-operational.

15) Pizza Flyers in Guest Rooms- Pizza flyers that appear under guest room doors are delivered without the permission of the hotel. The pizza establishment advertised on the flyer does not hold the recommendation of the hotel. Please notify the hotel operator if you should witness such trespassing acts by the distributors. Our hotel concierge is more then happy to assist you in the recommendation of local and reputable pizza delivery options.

Ingredients:

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup butter, softened (at room temperature)
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 container (16 oz) chocolate creamy frosting
  • Candy corn
  • Orange decorating icing (with a fine tip)
  • 1 bag Mini M&M’s Candy

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until it becomes a smooth consistency.
  • Beat in egg and vanilla.
  • Stir in the dry ingredients from the small bowl.
  • Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls, and place onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden brown.
  • Let stand on cookie sheet 2 minutes.
  • Cool completely on wire racks, about 20 minutes.
  • Empty chocolate frosting into one corner of a re-sealable food-storage plastic bag and seal the bag. Cut a small hole at the bottom corner where the frosting was directed. On each cookie, pipe frosting on the outer edge of half the cookie. (The edge with the frosting becomes the top of the cookie) Arrange candy corn pointy end down across frosting to create feathers.
  • Pipe orange icing onto each cookie to create a turkey beak (arrow head pointed down) and turkey feet (each shaped like a pitch fork). Use orange icing to attach two Mini M&Ms to turkey face for eyes. For centers of eyes, dip a toothpick into remaining chocolate frosting and add atop candy.

Guest Testimonial:

I felt fortunate that I was able to start my vacation with a total body Swedish Massage. All the stress, fatigue and muscle aches that had nagged at me on my flight down were forgotten in an hour. I felt wonderfully refreshed and was able to golf later that afternoon in good form. I would highly recommend this service.Beth, Ohio
